Mesh simulation imagesAttend this workshop and you will receive firsthand knowledge of how companies apply STAR-CCM+ to simulate and optimize their products which often endure austere thermal environments. Handling complex geometries, heat transfer (including simultaneous convection, conduction, and radiation), and optimization capabilities and techniques will be emphasized.

Live interactive demos of meshing and optimization will be a substantial part of this workshop. Attend this session and increase your efficiency in going from CAD to simulation.

10:00am - 10:45am Distinguished Speaker: Dr. Jay Kapat, University of Central Florida
Dr. Kapat, is a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and is currently the Lockheed Martin Professor of Engineering. Dr. Kapat is the founding Director of the newly-founded Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER).

Dr. Averill is co-founder of Red Cedar Technology and serves on the faculty of Michigan State University in the Mechanical Engineering Department as Associate Professor and Associate Chair for the Undergraduate Program

12:45pm - 1:30pm Distinguished Speaker, Dr. Marc Ricklick, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Dr. Ricklick is an Assistant Professor in the Aerospace Engineering Department
